Appropriate locations for first aid kits
First aid kits should be located where there is a reasonably predictable risk of serious and
sudden injury or illness in a workplace. The time has to be taken to retrieve a first aid kit and
return to the person injured should be no longer then 4 minutes. In workplaces kits should be
conveniently located so that they can be easily accessed. In the workplace the location of the
first aid kits should be identified with suitable signage that is visible and easy to see.
It is important that a first aid kit is not:
- Hidden away beneath shelves
-Hard to access (for example being to high for a person to reach quick, efficiently and safely)
